Discipleship
To be a disciple means to be an apprentice of Jesus. Just like a trade, an apprenticeship is not just learning, but doing, active participation and hands-on practical experience.

As an apprentice of Jesus, we are ultimately learning from Jesus so that we can live and do life the way He did.

We believe that we can’t follow Jesus alone. When we say yes to following Jesus, we join a family of people on that very same journey. This is good news!
At Abide, we believe that Sunday alone won't cover all the bases in growing in Jesus. God created us to live in community with others, and it is only then that we can experience the full life He has for us.
That means that becoming a disciple or an apprentice of Jesus largely happens in the context of Connect Groups.
What is a Connect Group?
Connect Groups are small groups of like-minded people who purposefully meet throughout the week to intentionally help each other grow in our personal discipleship to Jesus and, as a by-product, grow in our relationships with one another.

In groups, we eat together, join in life together, share our joys and our burdens, and pray for one another. We meet consistently across Sydney every week during the school term.
